Revalidation is still being piloted...
With the law now requiring UK doctors to register with the GMC and have up-to-date licences to practise through a process called ‘medical revalidation’, employers and management could face numerous challenges in keeping pace with its expectations over the next few years.
Medtracker has been developed as a free appraisal and revalidation toolkit which will help to prepare doctors before the process goes live in 2012.
Revalidation is still being piloted, and the national appraisal model has not yet been agreed by the GMC. There is still another year of piloting before revalidation goes live - which is a great reason for doctors and their employers not to invest in a particular system just yet.
Why not use Medtracker free of charge until revalidation goes live in 2012? By doing this, doctors should be able to extract their data from any system they are currently using, and upload it into the Medtracker toolkit.
As well as acting as a medical appraisal and revalidation management toolkit for GMC-registered UK doctors, Medtracker will also provide a professional networking site to doctors.
